Marble Pink Princess Philodendron Care
Marble Pink Princess is a name used for Pink Princess Philodendrons with dense flecks, streaks, or swirls of pink. It is still a warm-growing climber that needs bright, filtered light, loose soil, and careful watering.
- Light
Give it bright, filtered or indirect light. Good light supports balanced growth, but strong direct sun can scorch the pink sections. Turn the pot regularly so the stem does not lean toward the window.
- Water
Let the top inch or two of potting mix dry before watering. Water thoroughly, then let the pot drain. Reduce watering when growth slows.
- Soil
Use a loose, free-draining houseplant mix with plenty of organic matter. Add perlite and fine orchid bark for airflow, and use a pot with a drainage hole.
- Temperature
Keep it warm, ideally between 65 and 85°F. Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures below 59°F.
- Humidity
Average indoor humidity is acceptable, though moderate to high humidity can help new leaves open smoothly. Keep the plant away from drying vents and give it gentle airflow.
- Common issues
Pink patterns vary from leaf to leaf, even on the same plant. Pale tissue can develop brown patches after harsh sun or very dry conditions. Yellow leaves and soft stems often point to excess water. Watch for scale, spider mites, mealybugs, aphids, and thrips.
