Give it bright, filtered light to support strong growth and clear variegation. Direct afternoon sun can scorch the pale markings. In dim light, new growth may become smaller, stretch toward the window, or show less striping.

Water when the top inch of mix feels dry. Soak the pot until water runs from the drainage hole, then empty the saucer. Yellow lower leaves and persistently wet mix usually point to overwatering.

Use a loose, well-drained houseplant mix. Adding orchid bark and perlite creates air pockets around the roots. Choose a pot with a drainage hole and move up only one pot size when the roots fill the container.

Keep it between 65 and 85°F. Avoid cold windows, heating vents, and sudden drafts. This tropical plant is not frost tolerant.

Aim for moderate humidity around 50 to 60 percent. A humidifier is more dependable than wetting the leaves, especially if brown tips appear in dry winter air.

Yellow leaves and soft stems often mean the roots are staying too wet. Brown tips can follow dry air, missed watering, or mineral buildup. Faded striping and stretched growth point to insufficient light. Watch the leaf undersides and stems for spider mites, mealybugs, aphids, and scale. Take stem cuttings with at least one node if you want to propagate it.
